 Science Olympiad is a National organization that promotes students with opportunities in various areas of science to enrich understanding, further interests, and demonstrate the skills obtained in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and astronomy. All students at the school level will compete at a regional competition in March. The top three placing schools and all first places winners in the 22 event field earn the opportunity to compete at the state competition at NC State in April. The top two teams move onto the national competition. Individual winners at the state competition earn $2,000 renewable scholarships to NC State School of Textiles.
